We were exploring the Somerville area and came across Division Cafe! The food was bursting with flavor, especially the Gallo Pinto, Enyucados, and their award winning empanadas! The friendly and welcoming staff (our waiter was Joe) made the experience even better, offering great recommendations!The ambiance was cozy and inviting, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather, perfect for a relaxed meal. Division Cafe is a true gem in the Somerville area, and I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!

Tried it for the first time for lunch and loved it! Staff were welcoming and the food was great. The empanadas are a definite must try -- I recommend the beef chipotle. We took some to go afterwards, too. Dulce de Leche coffee was pretty decent, & we also had the Lomito Sandwich & Gallo Pinto. Overall very filling and delicious!

I got the Casado and though I wish there were more of the cheese, it was delicious! It was pricy at around 20 but I suppose you pay for quality here . The service was good; they checked on me even when I was a single diner where some places don’t. The wait was like ten minutes after sitting so I wasn’t having to stay still and hungry on a 100 degree day

Glad I walked into this place - the empanadas were so deliciously full of flavor! We got chorizo (which had cheese, a pleasant unexpected surprise), beef, and chicken. Loved them all. They also have sweet empanadas that looked amazing, too, but we didn't try them yet. Will absolutely go back.

The food was delicious! Empanadas were the highlight. Sometimes bringing a toddler out to eat is not easy- but here everyone had a wonderful time. The staff here were SO friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We will definitely be back to enjoy more delicious food and a great atmosphere.

Having visited this place numerous times, I can always count on a hearty and delicious meal! They serve authentic Costa Rican breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering everything from light snacks like sweet and savory empanadas to more substantial dishes like Bistec Encebollado (Steak & Onions). The staff is friendly, and the owner has a great sense of humor. He enjoys teasing me by suggesting new dishes to try, and he’s never steered me wrong. This time, we ordered the following: Almuerzo Campesino: A platter of beans, rice, diced vegetables, a fried egg, and Costa Rican-style sausage, all beautifully wrapped in a banana leaf. 5/5 stars. Gallo Pinto: A mix of stir-fried rice, beans, cilantro, onions, and peppers, served with sweet plantains, a fried egg, fried cheese, and corn tortillas. You can add extra protein like chorizo, Costa Rican sausage, fish, pork chop, or steak for an additional cost. 4.5/5 stars. The restaurant is always clean, and you can tell they take pride in their food. There’s plenty of seating, though metered street parking can be challenging on weekends.

We wanted a quick bite nearby since we were on the go. My wife selected this place, and first look at the menu I thought why (especially with us being pescatarian). The food turned out to be AMAZING!!! We ordered the Arroz Con Shrimp, sliders with Shrimp substituted as meat, french fries and guacamole & chips. EVERYTHING was delicious and the food was not heavy after consuming!! This place is BYOB as well which is actually pretty awesome. The service was great, our waiter was the body builder looking guy, solid dude

I’ve never been disappointed here. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly. My go to is the Carne en Salsa. We drive an hour just to eat here. The outdoor patio is great on a nice day.
